Cee Mr B -Adopted! Congrats Athena!
Cee Mr B is a 9 yo grey TB gelding. Mr B is a favorite in the CANTER barn here at RPEC. He is sweet, willing to please and a man who needs a job.
When Mr B first came to the barn he was tense and edgy. I watched him day after day, and it came to me. Mr B was a racehorse for 6 yrs, ran many times and earned his living honestly. He was like a hard core wall street trader who woke up one morning and someone told him he was retired... He didn't know how to relax and enjoy the sea breezes that met him in his stall. It took him a while, and now he is enjoying his new 'job'. Mr B has spark, is not wired for a beginner, but he is very enjoyable to ride, is getting his leads and loves to work. Please contact us or go to the CANTER website, http://www.canterusa.org for more information on all of the horses that CANTER has who need homes.

HE Care - aka Care Bear
Care Bear is just 3 years old. He came to the ranch after his owner left him unbroke at the track. He was gelded late last fall and turned out with other youngsters to play and grow up on our hillside. WOW and grew up he did!
He has had extensive ground work. He lunges, drives and long lines. He has been taken all over the ranch and even in the ring where he likes to free jump small fences and poles on the ground. He is currently being ridden in our large round pen at the walk and trot and some cantering. He is quiet, willing to please and VERY uncomplicated. He is ready now for someone with experience or with a trainer to train him however you like. Because we have taken the time with ground work, he is able to move up to the next training block with ease.
I would recommend him for most disciplines. Eventing, h/j, or go down the trail with someone. He is currently 16hh. He has great feet and bone. This guy will steal your heart!
Update - 12/1/10 - Care Bear has been under saddle for some time now, what an easy guy. Very comfortable to ride and really wants to please.

Prince Atlantis aka Remme - Adopted! Congrats Joanne!
Remme is a 6yo TB gelding. He came to the ranch with an undisplaced sesmoid injury in January. We have given him the best care and rehabilitation and his current x-rays are showing that he is cleared for just about any sport you have in mind. He is being slowly brought back into work. He is built like a sportscar and has the mind of a true athlete. He holds the current record for 6f at Woodbine in Canada. He has been driven and longlined at the walk and trot with canter work being added in. He has a nice short back and nice shoulder and hip. He is not for the timid rider, he expects you to know what you are doing with him and in return he gives you all he has got. He will make a fantastic horse for a confident junior or amateur owner. We will have video soon and have current x-rays to share.

Graphic Press aka Ace
Ace is a special TB gelding. As you can see from his pic he is gorgeous with a soft eye that says 'I am sweet and need some lovin'. Ace came to the ranch with some major hoof issues. We have confirmed that he has a cyst in the navicular bursa. This caused him great pain when he did not have proper shoeing or medications. Our team which includes Dr Ann McCabe, our farrier, Juan Aguilar and our volunteers came up with a plan and then hoped for the best. Ace is amazing, he now walks, trots and canters sound. He is and always will need to have medications to help keep him comfortable however, they are not complicated. His farrier work will always need to be on time to keep the pressure off this small bone located in the hoof capsule. We can discuss his care if you would like to know more.
Ace is currently going through the groundwork we start all of our off-trackers with. He was just recently adjusted by our Chiropractor, Dr Larry Allan. This has made him much more comfortable.
Caring for Ace takes commitment, but he is a willing and fun horse to be around. He is a lovely mover. Special consideration will be given to a knowledgeable home. We will have a video of him soon.

Mystifying aka Mysty - Adopted! Congrats to Mirra on your new Princess!
Mysty is a 10 yo TB mare. She was a broodmare for 6 years. She had some hard feelings about being brought back to work, but she is getting it that she is out of retirement now. This mare is special, she is a fantastic mover and built very well. She is working through her issues and is not for the timid soul. She impresses us each day as she enjoys the ground work and grooming time.
She is sound and would also love to be part of your sporthorse breeding program.

Super Carson aka Carson
Carson is a 3 yo TB Gelding. He is quite tall at over 16.2 hh with beautiful confirmation. He moves like a hunter with nice shoulder to stride out from. Carson came to us due to throat issues. He has had a couple of surgeries which seem to have taken care of the problem. We have lunged him without hearing his breathing or him showing and signs of breathing distress. He has been cleared for most showing disciplines. We are just now starting him with his ground work and will tell you more as we learn more about him. He has the perfect temperment to suit any junior or amateur rider. This is an in your pocket kind of guy. He is all class. Attention Hunter trainers: You have got to see this one. He would really make a great addition to your show barn!
Update - 12/1/10 - Carson is doing fantastic. He has been under saddle and Walks, Trots, Canters like a pro. He loves exploring the property and cavalettis.
